Rest and Digest- Reset!

Have you heard of the fight or flight response?

Think about a time in your life when you dealt with a stressful situation... You might even be able to think of a stressful moment that has happened since waking up this morning!

Did you notice anything happening with your body?

Stress can increase our heart rate, and blood sugar levels. It can also suppress the function of our digestive, immune, and reproductive systems.

This response is controlled by our Sympathetic Nervous System.

We also have a Parasympathic Nervous System. We often refer to this as the "Rest and Digest" system. When this portion of our nervous system is in control it can help reduce heart rate and blood sugar as well as stimulate proper function of our digestive, immune, and reproductive systems. Check out the graph below to see other functions of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.

When our bodies are balanced between the two systems it is called Homeostasis. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for us to be stuck in the "Fight or Flight" mode- or the Sympathetic Nervous System. This happens when we are constantly dealing with stimulants such as

Emotional, mental, and physical stress

Unhealthy diet

Bacterial/ viral/ fungal infections

Chemical exposure

Heavy metal toxicity

So what happens when we do not have a proper balance between our two nervous systems?

Here are common symptoms of being stuck in Fight or Flight. Do any of these sound familiar to you?

  • Digestive Issues

  • Gallbladder Malfunction

  • High Blood Pressure

  • Blood Sugar Imbalance

  • Erectile Dysfunction

  • Anxiety

  • Suppressed Immune System

  • Thyroid Dysfunction

  • Sleep problems

  • Weakened Bladder

  • Inflammation

  • Sweating (too much or not enough)

  • Take our toxic build up test, to see if you may be stuck in "Fight or Flight"

How do I regain Homeostasis?

One of the tools we are using in our office is the Ionic Foot Detox. Simply put this machine puts our bodies back into the Parasympathetic Nervous System so that we can relax, digest, and detox. To truly understand how this works we need to get a bit more scientific.

Our nervous system uses ions to move electrical currents throughout the body. These currents give information and coordinate function to our muscles such as the brain and heart. The ions move through channels called ion channels. These channels are used in multiple processes in the body such as the nervous system, contraction of the heart and of skeletal muscle, and secretion in the pancreas.

When these channels become blocked, our bodies are unable to give and receive the information needed for proper function.

The ionic detox machine releases ions that enter the body through the soles of ones feet. These ions can help reopen blocked channels. With repetitive use, the ions will put the body back into homeostasis- Rest and Digest mode, and restore function to the body.

When we are in homeostasis, our bodies are finally able to release toxins and heavy metals that have been plaguing us and delaying the healing process.

Below is a before and after picture of the detoxification process

What makes our machine different from ones found on the store shelves?

You may have seen detox systems available to purchase in stores and wondered how can it possibly be so much different.

For the ionic detox to work properly it has to be set at the correct voltage and amperage. This has to be adjusted with each individual. If it is not in the correct setting, it will send the wrong currents and put the body back into "Fight or Flight" response, making the situation worse instead of better!

Are you ready to reset your Rest & Digest?

For your convenience, we offer the detox on nights and weekends. You can schedule your appointment here.

You will notice optimal results if you commit to 10 sessions, but you are welcome to come in to test it out for 1 session.
